Rainbows/Spectrum an international organization, that provides a bridge to emotional healing for children, adolescents, and adults confronting death, divorce or other painful family transition - "because it doesn't need to hurt forever." The Rainbows program provides several of these protective functions:
- Helps children to better understand their feelings about divorce via small peer support group atmosphere led by trained adult facilitators.
- Supports children’s ability to demonstrate rule-governed behaviors by enhancing self-esteem and characterization of personal self-ideal.
- Supports children’s ability to use effective coping strategies using age directed, structured curricula materials.
- Provides children with opportunities to enter and re-enter the program when they reach different ages and stages in their grieving process.
If you are a caring adult and are willing to reach out to these children in our support group we need you!
*Fingerprinting may be required for adult volunteers. For information click here.
