The Catholic Church teaches that every valid marriage between two baptized persons is a sacrament that is permanently binding.  In addition the Church recognizes the validity and permanence of the marriages of non baptized persons.  Unfortunately not every marriage is successful and ends in divorce.  The Church is aware of the stress and suffering experienced and it expresses it’s pastoral concern through the ministry of the Marriage Tribunal.  Our Parish has an annulment advocate that serves as the liaison  between the person requesting the annulment and the Marriage Tribunal.
