Confirmation

Youth Confirmation

In the Sacrament of Confirmation, young people receive the promise of the Holy Spirit anew, and so complete their Baptismal Initiation into the Risen Lord Jesus and his body, the Church. In Confirmation, they reaffirm the public vows of their Baptism in order to more deeply receive the Holy Spirit and his Seal on their lives. Their decision to live a life in the Holy Spirit is a decision to live by the Lord's love and so build up the body of the Church.

Adult Confirmation

Adult Confirmation is for those baptized Catholics who have not completed their Initiation into the Lord Jesus and the fullness of Catholic Faith. Therefore, the Adult Faith Formation for Confirmation includes preparation for those adults who want to complete their Initiation by receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. This preparation takes advantage of the desire to be Confirmed by engaging it with the Truth of the Faith who is Jesus, the Son of God and giver of the Holy Spirit. Confirmation for Adults starts in January and goes until the time of Confirmation, usually in May.

Adult Confirmation is also for those coming from other Christian traditions, that is, those who desire to become Catholic. This is called coming into "Full Communion" with the Catholic Church. This is done in a "Rite of Full Communion". It includes a public confession of the faith and receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist.
